Indeed, the patent pending PowerTower is designed to deal with the next set of issues in growing the first mater of the season. Now that the maters are out of the Mater-Master, there are some new issues to cope with.
Even though the weather prognosticators indicate that there will be no more frosty nights, that doesn't mean there won't be more nights below 60 degrees. And the PowerTower will deal with that issue very nicely. Not shown, but part of the PowerTower design is the "Foul Weather Protector." It is a custom fitted shield which wraps around the uprights and will protect my little one, and soon to be a big one, against the nasty weather that is likely to happen.
The PowerTower will utilize the protective wrap as well as the heating lamp along with the thermostat control out of the Mater-Master to keep Ole Rocky just as comfortable as he was in the Mater-Master, a cozy 70 degrees. Should it be excessively windy, the wrap can slide into place to block the elements.
As we all know, when the maters start to ripen, birds have an irritating habit of pecking holes in a perfectly good mater making it totally unusable in the competition. The PowerTower includes a bird net which prevents those "Ugly Birds" from destroying a winning mater.
Notice the chain hanging from the center of the PowerTower. This will be secured to the mater stem to allow the plant to grow tall and strong. The PowerTower is nine feet tall which will give Rocky plenty of room to grow and produce abundant offspring all summer long. An optional ladder can also be ordered with the PowerTower. And finally, should the summer sun become too intense for Rocky, a quick attachment of the sun screening material will be a snap. This will prevent sun scalding of my maters.
Well here it is, the Mater-Master PowerTower.
The fence in the background is seven feet tall. I have been accused of not having a point of reference in my earlier pictures. That fence is my point to reference - the tallest thing I had available!
Also, an additional point of reference, the container is 2 feet in diameter.
Orders are being taken at this time. Just contact Mater-Master. Side bets are still available...

Wow Mater Master that's a serious mater pot! You've been working hard in your garage. Nope I couldn't have guessed your secret weapon in a million years, I was going down the poop path. Will you be making 7 of them buckets or is that reserved just for Rocky?
Right now, the production schedule calls for two PowerTowers. Rocky and Rocky II will spend the balance of the race in the PowerTowers placed around the pool. That is where the longest periods of sunlight each day can be found. The other five will be in the garden. Not as much sunlight there but plenty of room to spread out.
Yes that's a good strategy. I see you've moved over to my way of thinking. Pots do allow for a better control of the environment. I might just turn you into a city farmer yet!
So, got a little present for you on my blog site. Go check it out!
The decision actually came down to sunlight. The garden is now so surrounded by trees that the actual amount of time the garden is in the direct sun each day is much too short. So, I had to come up with plan B.
I figured if they have to go in a pot why not see if we can improve on the potted plant thingy a little and maybe steal a couple extra days in this race.
So the Lush Puppies are covering the garden approach and Rocky and Rocky II will hold down the potted plant approach. We shall see which works better.
