Fifty... and counting!

Just came in from checking out the Magnificent Seven and I am very happy with the number of tomatoes, blossoms and buds that are on them.  I am not going to give you a portrait of all seven, trust me they are ALL doing well.  Instead, I'll just give you a couple photos of Rocky.  On Rocky alone there are (50) tomatoes, blossoms and buds.

At this point I must apologize to Manual Mater Maker for inaccurately reporting a total of 52 the other day.  I thought there were 52 but when I counted them today I got 50, so at this point I believe that is the correct total.  Sorry about the reporting error.

Well Rocky is growing at a conservative pace if you consider height as the criteria.  But if you consider his girth, density and the number of fruits being produced, he is growing at an outstanding pace.

The first picture here is a view of Rocky from a distance to let you see his overall size.

To give an idea of the total height, it is 37 1/2" from the bottom of the planter to the top leaf.

The second image is of Rocky's tomatoes, four shown in this picture and two above and to the right, just out of the view.  Lush Puppy IV actually has the biggest tomato but Rocky has more fruits.

So Manual Mater Maker and Mater-Matic - Rocky is keeping the pressure on.  We probably have 4-5 weeks before the Fat Lady Sings and I think she will be singing my song!

Hey Mater-Matic - how about an update on those maters in those sippy buckets?

Kudos to you and Rocky - that sure is a pretty sight. My plants are growing strong, healthy and green, but no buds yet. I think they're set on the long haul for this season.

Well Mater Master, you've found a way to beat me on at least one milestone in this race! I don't have more than about 30 buds/flowers/maters per plant. That worm poo seems to be starting to kick in and give you some gains. Congratulations, great work. Rocky looks like a Champ. During my visit to the Mater ER today (you can read more about it in my blog) the nursery expert told me you'd be tough to beat with worm castings. I guess I'll just have to prove you both wrong!

PS - Check out Mike's latest post. I gasped and then laughed on the floor!
