More Mater Maladies!

I thought I would provide some more photos of the disease that Rocky is fighting.  These photos are at an earlier stage of the damage which I believe helps to eliminate some possible causes.

As you can see on the photos below, the disease starts higher on the shoulders of the mater and not on the blossom end of the mater.  I believe this eliminates blossom rot as the cause.  Look at the photo of the three maters I removed today.  There is no discoloration at the blossom end.



Also, the disease seems to start at the point of contact with either a stem or another mater.  The first area to turn brown is where the maters touch something.  It will then spread wider and lower on the mater.

So if anyone out there knows what this, let me know.  I continue on my quest to find the answer.  I believe it is more likely from too much of something rather than not enough of something??
