Spring Has Sprung...

Spring has Sprung
Can't tell it here,
Making it tough
To win the Beer!

Thank goodness for the Mater-Master.  At least my maters have a warm place to sit it out while the cloudy skies and cold air make it kind of a nasty day.  From the photo Sherrie last posted, I see she has her little guys pushed right up into the lights.  It must really be cold up there in the Northern Territory.

I wonder how it is all going down south where the Mater-Matic hangs out.  Haven't heard much from him.  That can only mean he is up to something devious!  I bet he has another Mater-Matic innovation that he is building in the lab and will unleash on us soon!  Or maybe it is a new Mater-Mash that he is experimenting with, soon to be poured all over his unsuspecting mater babies.  What ever it is, I'm sure it will cause chills to run up our spines.

My army of worms are showing no signs of letting up.  I checked them out a little while ago and I was surprised to see so many new little worms in the second tray.  They are munching away on all the goodies in there.  They just love vegetables.  The bottom tray looks like it will need another week or two before I can take the compost and brew up some more tea. I need to keep the pedal down on the competition.

Well, I believe that we are now entering the doldrums of the mater contest.  Not a lot of noteworthy issues to report on.  All the maters are past the excitement of getting the initial sets of leaves.  So all you will see now is maters being compared to a dime!  No more "dime" photos from Mater-Master!

Now the next big event will be the blooming of the first flower on the maters.  So we will have to sit back for a couple of weeks and watch them all grow and see who has the first photo of the first pretty little yellow flower!  (No dimes next to the flower photos... please.)  The first smiling bloom will give us a good milestone and an indication of how the maters are lining up in this contest.

But there is a danger!!  Beware.  If the maters start to flower too early... before the weather is warm enough to take advantage of the early blooming, then the eager little mater will get a pretty big set back.

So much stress.. So much to consider.. So much at stake!  Whew. I think I need a beer.

Well said Pop, I need a beer too. Buy me a lotto ticket, working for a living sux!

But... Unlike you, my dime photos will keep-a-coming! Them maters make mamma smile!

Like my T-Shirt says ... "Daddy needs a beer," so I'm right there with you Sher. But I'm only interested in a winning lotto ticket - I'll take one of those too.

FYI - given my Weight Watchers efforts it's been a LONG time since I had a beer - victory sure is going to taste sweet!

With all the Powerball discussion above, I thought I would check out how last night's drawing went. No winner of the jackpot. It is now estimated at $320 million and it will probably end up higher by Saturday night. Last time it got that high the actual value really increased because everyone wanted a shot at the pot of gold. So you could expect it to go over $400 million on this next drawing. Now that could buy a lot of beer and wings or a mater sandwich!

Good luck on your Powerball tickets. If you win, remember how kind I have been to you both in this competition.

I'll be sending the hubby out tonight to get me that winning ticket. If I win I'll be kind to you both, you've been a lot nicer than I have in this smack down competition. You'll know I won cause my boss will be calling all my emergency numbers looking for me. I'll be on a farm by the lake planting maters.
